SaTGM - Chapter Four

The sun was rising, this promised to be a great day for Sonic.
He was going to challenge the Oreburgh City gym leader that day.
Tails woke up first, he noticed something was wrong, and woke up Sonic and the rest immediately.
'Sonic! wake up! wake up!' he yelled.
'W..what's the matter Tails? Eggman's Back ?' Sonic replied, still exhausted.
'No! we overslept, we forgot to set our watches!' Tails explained.
'What ? Is that all ?' Knuckles replied "friendly"
Tails guesses it was a bit overreacted from his side, and checks the Pokémon center, but he came back soon.
Tails told them Barry had already left for Oreburgh, now they had to go there all by themselves.
'Darn it!' Sonic said to himself while thinking of a solution.
'Guess we'll have to find it by ourselves' Amy said.
'alright, here we go!' Sonic said while they walked out of the Pokémoncenter.

... Meanwhile on another place.

'So, are we ready for our departure?' a shady person said.
'yes, we are ready to leave for Valley Windworks, I hope your plan works, or it will be the last we hear from you, id that clear ?' a higher-ranked person said.
'eh, yes, at least I hope so' the shady person replied.
'It better, we'll need lots of it for our great master plan' the High-ranked person replied.
'Soon this will be all ours, and we'll be unstoppable!'

... Back at the Jubilife border

Sonic and friends were progressing greatly, they've just left Jubilife City, and found themselves in fron of a cave.
Knuckles thought it'd be the best way to get to Orburgh city.
After a whie, they all went in the cave anyway, Tails used a flashlight to see where they were going.
There appeared to be some wild Pokémon in the cave, Sonic decided he would catch one in case his Piplup wasn't strong enough to beat the gym leader.
'look Sonic! it's a wild Pokémon!' Tails said i'll check my pokédex to see which one it is. 'It's a Geodude!'
'cool, I'll catch it with a pokéball!' Sonic said.
And he threw his pokéball.
but the wild Geodude immediately broke free from the ball.
'Huh ? why won't it stay inside ?' Sonic asked
'I think you'll need to weaken it first' Amy told him.
'Weaken it ? uh... okay, hold on' Sonic replied 'Piplup, use .. bubble!'
Piplup's bubble did a lot of damage, Geodude was badly harmed by the bubble attack.
'okay, now I'll throw the Pokéball' Sonic said, and he threw his ball, this time Geodude tayed in the ball.
'Yeah, I caught myself a Geodude!' Sonic yelled of enjoyment.
'Good work Sonic!' Tails said to him.
'Stop dancing will you, we need to get to Oreburgh' Knuckles replied while being a partypooper.
'Knuckles is right, we can't stay in this cave, it's too scary' Amy replied, and they wandered around the cave for some more time, and they finally got out of the cave.
'So this is Oreburgh City ?' Tails said questioning.
Suddenly a local went to them, he asked if he could give them a tour around the town, since they didn't know where to go, they went with him.
He showed them the Pokémon Center and the Pokémarket, that's where you can buy all sorts of stuff like healing items and Pokéballs. He also showed them the thing the city is famous for: The Coal Mine and the Coal Museum.
Then they arrived at a tall building.
'This is the Oreburgh Gym' the young man told them.
'So can I battle the gym leader now ?' Sonic asked
'I'm afraid that it's not possible at this time' Barry said.
'Barry ? what are you doing here ?' Tails asked him.
'I've beaten the Gym leader some minutes ago, He said he was going to the Mine to trin his pokémon a bit' Barry explained.
'So he's at the Mine eh ?' Sonic said, maybe if he went into the mine he could get the gym leader out to battle him.
'Do as you like Sonic, I already have the Coal Badge, now I'm headed for Eterna City for thee second Badge, see you guys' Barry said, and he took of like a tornado.
'We better head over to thee Mines' Knuckles mentioned.
Sonic and the others then went to the Oreburgh mines, the entrance was huge, the mines were bigger than they had ever imagined.
'Well, we better head inside before someone notices us' Amy told them.
They all agreed, and went into the mines. To their surprise, there were a lot of trainers inside the mines, it appeared that part of the mines was no longer in use due to the large amout of wild pokémon in that area. All sorts of trainers went there to train agains rock-type pokémon, and even to catch them, this reminded Sonic of something.
'I'm gonna catch another of these Pokémon to make my team larger' He said, and he looked around, if there were some inteeresting pokémon, and he selected a huge rocky snake.
'It's an Onix, Sonic!' Tails said, pointing his Pokédex at the creature.
'Time for me to catch one, Go Piplup!' Sonic yelled, Piplup used bubble, it damaged the Onix quite a bit.
Sonic threw a pokéball, and he caught the Onix.
'Sweet catch Sonic, you've got three pokémon now' Tails mentioned.
'Sonic, let's just go find the gym leader, we can't stay in here forever.' Knuckles said.
'Sonic, Knuckles is right, we should look for the gym leader, it's getting creepy in here' Amy said frightened
'Did someone say gym Leader ?'
A man came from a dark tunnel further in the mines.
'yeah, we are looking for this city's gym leader' Tails replied.
'Well, then you've got your man, I'm Roark, oreburgh's Gym Leader' Roark said 'We should get out of this mine if you want your batle'
They went out of the mine, and they headed over to the Gym where Sonic will have his battle with Roark.
'Sonic, we should go to the Pokémon center before you're going to fight Roark' Tails noticed just in time, and he was right, the pokémon Sonic caught and even Piplup were pretty exhausted.
But it wasn't that bad, Nurse Joy said his pokémon were ready to battle.
Sonic went to the Gym where Roark was waiting for his challenge.
'Roark, I'm ready for the battle' Sonic said
'Well, it's about time you showed up' Roark answered 'As the Oreburgh City Gym Leader I accept your challenge Sonic! Go Geodude!'.
Roark sent out his Geodude, Sonic fought a Geoudude before, and it was greatly harmed by his Piplup, so he knew which of his pokémon he should send out.
'Go Piplup!' Sonic said 'Go, use bubble!'
The bubble attack was a critical hit, Geodude fainted instantly.
'Argh, come back Geodude, okay you've asked for it, Go Onix!' Roark said.
Sonic already fought an onix too, but this felt different.
Onix started to attack first, but piplup was able to avoid the attack, and used water gun, a new attack that piplup appeard to have learned.
Onix wasn't up to the water gun of Piplup, and fainted.
'Onix come back... Well you seem to be good at this Sonic, I must admit that, but I wonder... if you can beat Cranidos!'
Roark's Cranidos looked really tough.
'Piplup use water un again!' Sonic yelled.
But it didn't appear to do a lot of damage.
'Allright Cranidos, use Pursuit!' Roark told to his cranidos.
It's a hit, and not a small one, Piplup is in pretty bad shape,
Piplup uses water gun one more time, it hits again, but Cranidos seems to stay on his feet.
'Come Back Piplup!' Sonic said 'Go Onix!'
Roark didn't expect Sonic to change his pokemon.
Sonic's Onix used it's tail to slam into Cranidos, and it appeard to do a lot of damage, but Cranidos didn't give up just yet, it used Pursuit once more, it hit Onix, but didn't do much damage.
Onix used it's attack once more, Cranidos fainted.
Sonic won the Gym Battle!
'Here Sonic, the Coal Badge' Roark said while he gavee his badge to Sonic.
'Yeah, i've got one of the eight gym badges' Sonic said of joy.
'yup, seven more to go, but you might rest up, before heading to Eterna City, since it's a long back to Jubilife City' Roark explained.
'What ? we need to go back to Jubilife City before we can get to Eterna City ?' Knuckles asked nervously
'Well, you also need to pass Floaroma town before you arrive at Eterna City' Roark continued.
'oh man, that's a long way is it ?' Amy Asked.
'Well, if you like fresh air, and the beauty of the Sinnoh Region, I think it'll be just fine' Roark said. 'Well, see you guys later!'
Roark left to the Mines once more, Some people thing he works in the Mine, others think he only trains in there.

Sonic and friends went to the Oreburgh pokémon center to stay for the night.
